Variable Speed Controller Brushless Thermatic® Fan & EWP with 1/4" NPT Thermal Sensor (Part #0550)
*Note: Only for Brushless Motors, for Brushed Motors, use Part #0555

High-performance Controller designed to optimise thermal management in automotive, industrial, marine and EV applications. It provides intelligent, precise control of either Brushless dual Thermatic® Electric Fans or Electric Water Pumps (EWP®), ensuring maximum, efficiency, system protection and reliable operation in the most demanding environments.

DC-0550 suit the following Davies Craig Fans:
DC-0121,DC-0122, DC-0123, DC-0124, DC-0125, DC-0126, V0127, DC-0128,

Key Features

Flexible operating modes
Four distinct control strategies to suit differing cooling system applications
12 & 24 Volt Applicable

Independent dual outputs
Two fully isolated PWM signal channels allow for separate control of any combination of Brushless fan/s and/or Brushless EWP®
Multiple Brushless fans or pumps can be wired to a single channel, provided the combined PWM signal current does not exceed .5A.
Unique setpoints, and operating modes can be applied to each output independently.

Shutdown control
After ignition-off, the Controller will keep fans running for user-defined time or until defined shutdown time is reached to prevent heat-soak.

Manual overrides
Dedicated ON/OFF control per channel by passes automatic control if required
Configurable polarity accommodates different wiring and switch arrangements

Safety & failsafe options
In the event of Sensor fault, outputs default to full speed to protect the system

Advanced Configuration options
Temperature difference – defines ramping start relative to base set point
Defines the speed at which the fan will start
Shutdown time & temperature – controls post-ignition cooldown time & temperature
Temperature offset – Adjusts for Sensor calibration
Factory Reset – restores all parameters to default settings
Adjustable PWM frequency – adjusts PWM output frequency to suit controlled Fan and/or EWP on the Brushless Variable Speed Controller

Rugged, reliable design
IP67 waterproof rating ensures durability in harsh conditions

Kit Overview
This kit includes two sensors, providing flexible installation options for coolant temperature monitoring.

Sensor 1: Temperature Probe (Ambient core temperature or Coolant Fitment)
This versatile probe can detect the Ambient core temperature of the radiator core when positioned within the radiator’s fin section. Alternatively, it can be fitted directly into the coolant system using a Temperature Sensor Adaptor Kit (Part 0409 or Part 0408), available from our store.

Sensor 2: ¼ NPT Thermal Sensor Kit (Coolant or Oil Fitment)
The ¼ NPT Thermal Sensor is designed for installation directly into the fluid. The sensor can be installed into a threaded port in the thermostat housing, engine block, or directly into the radiator tank. If preferred, it can be installed into the top radiator hose using the Temperature Sensor Adaptor Kit (Part 0419 or Part 0416), the sensor can also be installed into the Transmission hose using the Transmission Temp Gauge 1/4" NPT Sensor Adapter (Part 1007), available separately from our store.

Optional Sensor: M12 x 1.5 Thermal Sensor (Coolant or Oil Fitment)
The provided sensors can be upgraded to a M12 x 1.5 Thermal sensor (Part 0462). This upgraded sensor allows you to use existing spare sensor ports in the cooling system, available separately from our store.
