The RE-0930 Pod Filter can be used to replace a stock air filter / Panel Filter.  

Fitting a K&N Pod Filter there are certainly differences between using a Cone Filter and using the original OEM Panel Filter/in terms of sound and performance.  With this filter the sound is better in terms of growlier in take.  As well as the noticeable low end and top end performance difference.
